Management

I just want to summarize the failures on my part in the management area during the last two years.

1. Being Assertive. I think i should have set limits to my relationship with Mathew. I think i went along with him in whatever he said. I should not have done the RCA for the ESP project twice. I should have pushed the RCA on my own to the offshore team and escalated to Vel.

2. How to handle organizational rules. Why did i take Mohammed Kathar's offshore movement plan to be a personal one. Why did i fear about his resignation? I could conveyed it to him and the client and involved Mathew to back me up and made him to provide his stamp of approval.

3. Technical Infrastructure Requirements - Peoplesoft projects needed infrastructure of its own. Why did i commit to the clients about the Mathew's proposal as mine ? Its a TCS infrastructure requirement and it needs to be have been met by the TCS. I should not have remained silent.

4. Work Packet Rules - I should have sent a MoM in response to the meeting i had with Lea and Scott. I am taking things very personally and i should not do it.

5. i came to San Jose with high hopes of succeeding as a manager. But within three weeks of entry, i had an outburst against the BSA/Dev team for not providing the functional specs.i could have easily escalated to his manager Nithin about the non compliance of the functional specs.

6.i accepted my downgrade of my role as a technical lead. What a pity ! why am i afraid of not talking against my manager.

7. Also when i am hurried up by others, why am i responding to them ? I need to remain calm in the face of adversity.

8. Why the heck i shouted at Bao on Feb 16th? I could easily escalated to Tony, Lynn and talked with everyone convening a meeting to convey the information that every one in the team is multitasking and convinced them about it.

9. Why didn't i speak with Veera on the Sepetember night during the go live of the Equinox upgrade? Why should i have responded to Bao about Veera on the night ?
